This morning the team played their second game of the week against Sestri Levante at 10:15. They were wearing their Red jerseys for today and Sestri was in white. JPSA was in control of the game the whole match and ended up winning 4-0.
Goals scored by:
3-0 at the half and Roberto added another in the second half where he received the ball on the left side, cut the ball back, went 1on1 with the goalie and finished in the bottom right corner.
This being the last time at the comune di cicagna centro sportivo Roberto Piombo we gave some gifts to the opposing team and especially the groundskeeper for the week. He was always there for us.
We were then headed to Genova to have lunch and tour the city. The lunch was very good with of course a first dish of pasta, however they had an option for rice as well. After lunch we were able to walk through town visiting the cathedral, the theatre and Christopher Columbus’ house as a boy. This is one example of how a legacy lives on forever. The house is very small however what he was able to accomplish as a voyager is the reason for the recognition in this town.
The final stop was at the Sampdoria shop where many of the players and parents purchased what was voted as the best uniform in the world. Sampdoria also plays at home this weekend against Benevento and there was a huge line outside for the tickets! Good luck to them and Genoa as they have a beautiful city.
We made it back in time to the hotel for the players to enjoy some pool time and relax before going to dinner.
They will be heading to Carpi in the morning for their third game of the trip!
