Whether we like it or not, our world will continue to change. With change, comes uncertainty of the next outcome. Since change is inevitable our challenges are endless and we must adjust our strategy and actions all while maintaining balance in our mind and body.
In the present game, we see many professional players taking penalties by approaching the ball while looking at the goalkeeper. Any adjustment or change necessary can be made as the player examines the balance, mobility and eyes of the keeper. This approach also makes it much harder for the goalkeeper to read where the player will finish.
It would be easier and preferred to put our head down and hit the ball as hard as we can in the same spot that we are so confident in. This approach can be effective for some however the more often you are at the spot the more flexible you must be in your approach and decision making.
A calm collected approach to the most intense moments is necessary to increase the likelihood of a positive result. We want to win in anything we do; this is human nature, however our desire to win or get the things we want cannot blind our vision for the path we must take to get there.
Regardless if we are winning or losing and since we understand there will be endless changes, we must be mindful of our emotions and how/if we should alter our current process.
Our collected approach is our greatest strength, especially in times of hardship.
Yours in soccer,
