A simple task done once should come easy. A simple task consistently completed requires effort, attitude and commitment.
Understanding that there is a larger meaning behind these small duties is the key to staying consistent in completion. If our smallest of responsibilities are looked upon as meaningless then at some point they will go unfinished.
A coach may suggest to a player to pass the ball off the wall to improve his or her first touch, cushioning and delivery. This player may take the coach up on the suggestion and begin the daily task of hitting the ball off the wall. If the player misunderstands the importance of a good first touch then this new task will only be temporary.
The continuation of our simplest tasks will become necessary on the pursuit of achieving our goals.
