The walk to the red doors each Saturday throughout the winter months is not a one size fits all.
It is December 4th and the league is soon to begin with teams that are made up of children from various towns and of all genders, ages and level. The challenge is presented for our staff to cater each time slot of the league to the level of the players while promoting a positive environment that encourages a fun and exciting 12 weeks of competition for all!
When the JPSA recipe comes together with our main ingredients of skill sportsmanship and self-discipline, the league becomes a desired event for all each week! The staff is predicting who will be the surprise team while the players are adding up their personal and collective goals from the previous week. Being placed on teams the likes of Juventus, Real Madrid, Italy, Borussia Dortmund, Manchester United and the list goes on, depending on the league division is a meaningful experience for each kid and receiving a professional nick name is even more inspiring.
The famous: “That is not my name, I am Jack” has been mentioned to a commentating coach who quickly replies “I know Jack, but today you are playing like Bergkamp and this name will be carried with you for the remainder of the league!”
What matters most about our JPSA league is the sense of connection and togetherness the children have with our staff and all players. We strive to promote an energetic feeling to work hard towards the goal of being recognized in our media booklet while enjoying each week’s games!
Congratulations to all of our winners of the 12-week league and we can’t wait to restart our league outdoors the week of April 18th!
Yours in soccer,
James Palumbo
